ACR (Auricular Cardiac Reflex)
ACR is a Modern Acupuncture system of diagnosing and testing which treatment zone points would be effective, utilising the auricular cartography of the auricle in correlation with the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. It uses the anatomy and physiology of the auricle researched by Nogier, there are 7 relative treatment zones within the auricle. It is part of Nogiers Auriculomedicine, but became better known as ACR or VAS.
The ACR is used to monitor the diagnosis and treatment protocols of this system as to which of the above diagnostic 'zones' points need attention. The ACR is then utilised to determine which type of treatment would be effective for the relative zone point found. The diagnosis can be made utilising coloured filters, metallic blunt probes with the point identified within the Nogier zone. A variable light source is used on the skin to test for nervous system responses.
This system is not taught within TCM or Western Medical Science acupuncture training establishments curriculum's. The techniques and protocols of ACR are taught within Modern Acupuncture training establishments curriculum's using Western medical terminology.
ACR can be used for diagnosis of conditions with the inclusion of testing ampoules / samples and correcting remedies.
